Rick Sgabellone - Associate
 Rick Sgabellone has more than 20 years of experience as a reporter, editor
and photographer for a variety of small publications in the Ottawa area and
trade magazines. He has covered natural disasters, high-profile criminal
investigations, elections and politically sensitive issues at all levels of
government, not to mention the day-to-day police, council and crime beats.
He still works today as a freelance writer.
Since joining Stanton Associates in 1999, Rick has assisted
small municipalities with strategic communications challenges and has run
workshops and training exercises for Emergency Preparedness Canada,
Emergency Measures Ontario, New Brunswick Power and several Ontario
municipalities. He has designed and executed emergency preparedness
exercises for Perth County and the City of Toronto and provided the media
relations function for special events such as the 2007 World Target Rifle
Championships and the Canadian Firefighters Memorial Service on Parliament
Hill in Ottawa.
Rick also has more than a dozen years experience as a meeting facilitator
and motivational speaker with Weight Watchers of Ottawa and Eastern Ontario
and a modest career as a film and television writer and producer, which
includes credits on the award-winning Red Green Show. He also teaches
introductory courses in screenwriting.
