Richard Wright – Senior Associate
A
Senior Associate with Stanton Associates, Richard has worked with the
media most of his life. For several years he was Chief of Media Support
Services for a BC government ministry where he managed press conferences
and media releases, assigned reporters, writers and photographers, and
produced award winning TV commercials.
He has worked for CBC TV as a cameraman and has been a reporter and
editor at five BC papers. He keeps his journalistic edge as a locum for
various newspapers. He has been an associate editor at several
magazines. For many years he has been a freelance journalist.
He currently consults on media issues, marketing and communications.
Most recently he worked with the Jack o' Clubs Casino in a multi-faceted
program to promote the Jack and the region by creating significant media
coverage, including segments on National Geographic and CBC "On the Road
Again", around The Cariboo Camels.
Richard brings a real-life newsroom perspective to the seminar. He is
the author of many books on a variety of subjects and a popular keynote
speaker on communications and marketing issues.
His communications clients have included School Districts, Community
Skills Centres, Child Development Centre, Heritage Trust, IWA, Northern
Wood Forum and the Jack o' Clubs 1930s Casino & Music Hall in Wells,
B.C., First Nations groups, political campaigns and many small
businesses. He has taught media and crises communications courses for
UNBC, Capliano College and other institutions.
