  • Engines for El Salvador
Stanton Associates have been assisting the Vancouver Firefighters in getting publicity for a very worthwhile project they have undertaken. The project is called Engines for El Salvador. This impoverished Central American nation has extremely limited fire fighting resources.

The Vancouver Firefighters purchased three Vancouver fire trucks that were going out of service. They refurbished them, provide over 100 sets of fire fighting equipment, including helmets, bunker gear, boots, self contained breathing apparatus (scba) etc. These were then shipped to San Salvador where they will be used to augment the nations' fire fighting capabilities. The Vancouver Firefighters volunteer their time to fly to El Salvador, at their own expenses, and make sure the El Salvadorians are trained in driving and maintaining the trucks. The current fire fighting practices in El Salvador respond without scba, bunker gear or helmets.

Now they will have this refurbished Canadian equipment to be safer in their responses. Click here to see the photos.
